Why Fish Out of Tamarindo Beach?

Unlike other destinations that require 2 hours just to reach deep water, Tamarindo is situated exceptionally close to the continental shelf drop-off. This means shorter travel times (under an hour to reach blue water) and much more time with your lines in the water fighting trophy fish.

Offshore Game

Battle acrobatic Pacific Sailfish, massive Blue and Black Marlin, fast Wahoo, and schools of Yellowfin Tuna in some of the richest waters in Central America.

  • Pacific Sailfish (peak Dec-Apr)
  • Blue & Black Marlin
  • Yellowfin Tuna & Wahoo
  • Mahi-Mahi (Dorado)

Inshore Treasures

Target the legendary Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, and aggressive Jack Crevalle along rocky reefs near Captain Island. Perfect for families and light-tackle enthusiasts.

  • Roosterfish (year-round)
  • Cubera Snapper
  • Jack Crevalle & Grouper
  • Sierra Mackerel
